Boycott Facebook Permanently for Muhammad (S.A.W)

'Everybody Draw Mohammed Day May 20th 2010'.. yet another scheme for aggravating the situation of the Muslim community.

'Freedom of speech' or 'Freedom to ridicule'? Once again, this is sparking up another controversy in the world, and (of course) the targets are Muslims - Tell me why am I not surprised. Curious of the intention of the group, I opened a few discussions and noticed something totally bizarre. The admin members claiming that they are not against Islam but want to promote the concept of 'Freedom of speech' which in their opinion is the right to abuse, mock or insult anyone and expect people not to retort. The Muslim community responded in different ways, some were whiplashes and some were polite negotiations, but no conclusions yet. I say, ok fine, leave religion, just go on the streets and insult someone on the face? what would you get in return? Human behavior varies from person to person. Some might say you are crazy and ignore you, some may abuse you in return and some may punch you in the face. A joke is a joke is a joke and it can be digested, but an insult can have its consequences.

A group has been created in response to boycott facebook on the 20th of May, but I ask all, why boycott facebook for just one day? Is this our level of tolerance for the insult of our Beloved Prophet Muhammad S.A.W? If Facebook can promote such a group despite the fact that it has been reported by muslims as an abuse, then the Muslims should show their disapproval by not using Facebook. They should know that Freedom comes with responsibility, and not to do exceed boundaries of moral and ethical values of people.

I am sick of these constant tactics to marr the muslim repute everywhere. I am against what happened to the twin towers, London Bus etc, but, this is once again controversial because the Muslims were not directly involved without 'support from others'. I am also against the prejudice and hatred shown towards Muslims in the western society as if we are mongrels from the gutter.

Live and Let Live, is that asking for too much?

This is the time to prove our love for our Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) and deactivate facebook account to show that we are against such shameful acts.

Us Muslims keep using Facebook even though they supported the blasphemy of our Beloved Prophet Muhammad PBUH. We should move to using a Muslim Social Network. MUSLIMS-UNITE is a new social network for Muslims that has the same features as Facebook + more.

Their overall purpose is to create a central hub that portrays a Muslim Character in its truthful form, creates awareness on issues impacting our Ummah, allows users to share their opinions on topics and to learn more from each other about Islam.

I kindly request you to join the "Muslims-Unite" Network to avoid being take advantage of again. This is a global effort to unite Muslims using the power of Technology.
